The Basic Mt. Etna Volcano Experience of 5 hours.

Let me suggest to start at 08.30am. from your stay, to have more chances of seeing the Volcano from afar in its entire majesty with fantastic scenery , we drive towards Zafferana Etnea a small town of placed on South/East of Etna, here we stop for visiting the centre.
Then we we're going to see the last big Eruption of 20th century started in the night between,
14/15 December 1991, with the opening of an eruptive fissure in the western wall of the Valle del Bove,
at about 2200m of altitude. continues in the Valle del Bove, towards the town of Zafferana Etnea,
which brings the lava fronts up to just 2 km. Authority decided to build an embankment through east part of Portella Calanna where the valley narrows and turns south, towards Zafferana.
This barrier is erected orthogonally to the direction of the flow, with the aim of stopping its advance rather than diverting it lava flow that came very close to Zafferana.

in a short time we will meet an scenery more Volcanic,
I would like to say magical, almost lunar ... we will do several stop in nice view points in order to give way to take pictures. Once we are at 2000mt. you can visit Silvestri Craters,
Their formation dates back to the eruption of 1892: this began on 9 July
with the formation of a radial fracture, and therefore of a buttonhole of five craters,
between 2025 m. and 1800 m, on the southern slope of the volcano's flanks.
It lasted 173 days traveled about 7 kilometers,
until it touched the Monti Rossi from the eastern side, stopping just above Nicolosi, at an altitude of 970 m. On 29 December of the same year the eruption could be said to have ended.
From here i can show also the oldest lava flow of 1669 cs. that distroied part of Catania and one more..last biggest on this side of 2001.

Our first point of arrival is Zafferana Etnea, where we make a short stop to enjoy the beatiful center and to enjoy some local ingredient ( Honey ) before gop to visit the lava flow of 1992, after this we drive to reaching 2,000 meters. here we stop with the possibility of soft trekking for visiting the most recent lava flows and the Silvestri craters, now extinct.
Weather permitting there is optional the ascent by cable car up to 2,500 meters and continuing by off-road vehicles to the main craters area at approximately 3,000 meters with the assistance of licensed guides of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club ). This is not included in the Price.
Stop to admire the eventual activity of the summit craters in the area of security.
We strongly recommend warm clothing and suitable shoes.

Today a full tour of Alcantara Gorge and Mount Etna, giving the opportunity to scour the slopes of the mountain as well as altitudes. Departure at 08.30 AM. with English or Spanish Driver/escort,
